The high prevalence rate of
teenage pregnancies, with 23.7% of girls aged
between 10 and 15 years having had
unintended pregnancies, summing up to over
69000 girls in 2023, has led Bernice Bore, the
director of Munondida Foundation on a drive to
reduce this shocking statistic. She has
travelled to several African countries, of
special mention is Ghana, where she has set
up sub offices to also find solutions to this
scourge.
Her partnership with international
organisations such as World Women Leading
Change and close working relationship with Dr
Henrichs from Ghana, a UN Eminent
ambassador of peace, has given her traction
and exposure towards achieving the reduction
of teenage pregnancies and other objects. The
foundation has also set up an education fund
for back to school programs for teen mums, in
addition to empowerment and skills
development programs
